Alvin L. Koberstein, 86, of Princeton passed away Thursday, October 31, 2013 at Specialty Select Hospital in Evansville. He was born April 30, 1927 in Haubstadt, Indiana to Emery & Henrietta (Bultman) Koberstein. He lived in the Princeton since 1948, moving here from Hazleton. - See more:
October 15, 2013 Verner W Koberstein, 73, of Polk died Friday October 11, 2013 at Cleveland Clinic.

Funeral services will be Tuesday October 15, 2013 at 11:00 a.m. at the Matteson Funeral Home in West Salem with Pastor Floyd Costello officiating. Friends will be received at the funeral home on Monday 5-8. Burial in Polk Cemetery. (Klaibor) Koberstein who he married in 1963.  Son, Wayne (Martha) Koberstein of Polk, grandchildren, Christy and Rudolph (Laurel) Koberstein, sisters, Elsie Tyrpak of Rittman and Edna Mudra of Hinkley.  His parents, sister, Carrie and brother, Arthur died previously.

October 13, 2012 FamilySearch.org has extracted and index the records, "Germany, Prussia, Brandenburg and Posen, Church Book Duplicates, 1794-1874".  I have searched all Koberstein entries and put them in the appropriate location maps.  These locations are Spremberg Sorau (I created a probable family file with the names from this location), Schweren an der Warthe, Meseritz, Cottbus, Lübben, Sauen of Beeskow-Storkow in Furstenwalde (with proable family file), Ruppin and Templin.  No clear conncections with existing family ancestral files were seen at this time.  Let me know if you see any.
October 12, 2012 Diego Natalucci Koberstein of Quilmes, Buenos Aires, Argentina shared information on his Koberstein ancestry back to Friedrick Koberstein and Justine Saide.  "...my great-grandfather called himself Friedrich Koberstein, born the 23/1/1883 married with Justine Saide who arrived in Argentina in 1925 from Oriental Prussia I understand near the lake Masurenseen. One of the siblings of Friedrich left to USA." clarified as follows, "... My grandparents were Maximilian Erich Hörhammer (7/8/1902-11/9/1974) married with Wilhelmine Koberstein and the siblings of her: Gustav Koberstein (3/3/1909), Gerard Koberstein (17/11/1914), Frieda Koberstein (26/5/1917) and Reinhold Koberstein (1/12/1922).  I should correct that Friedrich Koberstein his wife Justine Saide with four children arrived first to Uruguay where Wilhermine married M. E. Hörhammer, (in the department of Cannelonis, Uruguay) and then they traveled to Argentina where you resided, I understand that Gerard arrives later here. October 7, 2012 With great sadness I learned from Stefan Robertz that his aunt, Josefine Hildegard Maria ROBERTZ born on 29 Dec 1922, Daughter of Maria Elisabeth KOBERSTEIN and Hermann ROBERTZ passed away on Sept. 04 2012. in Bergheim at the age of 89.  She was suffering from her age and was being taken care of by her sons Wolfgang and Jürgen at her home in Bergheim in Germany.  The funeral was Sept. 11th, 10:00 CEST in Bergheim.  The Ancestral file has been updated.
October 5, 2012 The 1940 United States Federal Census has been extracted for all Koberstein's and linked to know family lines.  A number of new links have been made.  Take a look at the 1940 census and see if the linkages are correct.  Let me know if you can lin any Koberstein names for which I don't kown the family connection.  I have found 269 Koberstein (including variations such as Koberstine, Kobersteen as well as extraction/spelling errors of Koberstien, R used instead of K etc.).  I have been able to link 95% or 256 of them to existing information.  I found one family in Wisconsin, Outagamie county that was unknown before.  Does anyone know which family line they belong to?  Typically this more current cencus data gave infomation on Koberstein born after the 1930 census and before 1940.  Hope you enjoy this easy access to the 1940 census for U.S. Koberstein families complete with links to the actual census sheets.

April 25, 2012 With sadness we note the passing of Clifford Edwin Koberstein, 94, died April 7, 2012, at his home in Kennewick, Washington.  Funeral services were at10 a.m. Friday, April 11, 2012, at the Taylor Funeral Service Chapel in Delta Colorado. Burial was at the Eckert Cemetery.  Survivors include one sister, Wilhelmine “Billie” Pauline Han; two sons, Jerrold Lee Koberstein and Rodney Clifford Koberstein; three daughters, Cheryll Elaine Austin, Renee Siminoe and Merrianne Door; nine grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren and four great-great-grandchildren.

BROWNSVILLE - Allan died at home in Brownsville, Oregon. He is survived by four children, six grandchildren, and two sisters. Allan retired as a custodian with the Salem Public School District in 2003. He was highly respected for his vocal talent, and won the International Barbershop Quartet Championship with his quartet, the Mark IV in 1969. A native of Urach, Germany, Mr. Scheufele was born December 7, 1927, a son of the late Herman and Alma Eisele Scheufele. He was a Mechanical Engineer, a U.S. Army Korea veteran and member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Erie, Pa. Mr. Scheufele was preceded in death by four brothers Herman, Karl, Werner and Gunther Scheufele, all of Riederich, Germany. Surviving are his wife, Helga Scheufele; three daughters, Susi Willis and husband, Ted, of Erie, Pa., Ingrid Koberstein and her husband, Hans, of Sindelfingen, Germany, Christa Eibl and her husband, Carl, of Rock Hill; a son, Marty Scheufele, and his wife, Teresa, of Atlanta, Ga.; a sister, Doris Knodel, and her husband, Martin, of Sindelfingen, Germany; five grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. Margaret was a hairdresser along with her husband and sons in Minneapolis. They moved to Phoenix in 1968 and started an insulation manufacturing business. She is survived by her daughter-in-law Sandra Koberstein, granddaughters Shawn (Eric) Cashman, Chris Koberstein, Hastie Koberstein and several great grandchildren. Memorial Service will be held September 17, 2011 at 11:00 A.M. at Shadow Mountain Mortuary, 2350 E. Greenway Road, Phoenix. December 4, 2010 A new source of records for the Chelm/Lublin area of what is now Poland has revealed many new Koberstein families.  This appears to extend the Koberstein family line that Karl and Gustav Koberstein Immigrated to Canada.
June, 11, 2010 The Hamburg Emigration Passenger Lists had entries for Julius and Matilde Koberstein.  I have been able to put together and interesting biography of this couple that immigrated to the United States.
June, 4, 2010 Recently the Hamburg Emigration Passenger Lists were published to the internet.  I was able to search for Koberstein and was delighted to find emmigration information about Koberstein's going to Brazil which connects with one of the two Koberstein families I know of in southern Brazil.  The root individual Emil Koberstein (data base known as Emil) was in the list.  However on the same passenger list I found his apparent parents, Franz (age 58) and Wilhelmina age 56) Koberstein and their daughter, Frieda (age 15). Since they are all listed as traveling on the same ship and time, I have to assume that Emil (age 32) is the son to Franz and Wilhelmina. Therefore Emil would be brother to Frieda. See the Emil database and the passenger list information.  I had some time before received information about a Francisco, who it is clear is the full name for this Franz.  "My name is Marcos Schroeder, 39 years old, born in Rio do Sul, State of Santa Catarina, South of Brazil. Since many years I search about my ancestors and towns where they lived. I know that the first teacher in Rio do Sul (at that time Südarm, later Bela Aliança and finally Rio do Sul) was Franz KOBERSTEIN. He was born at 06.06.1846 and died at 30.07.1924. I have only this information about him and know that exist some families descendents in Rio do Oeste, near to Rio do Sul and others in Paraná, another State ."  Also more information about this Franz, "The first school that is on record, belonged to the Evangelical Lutheran Community, dated in the year 1908. ... The teacher of the school name was Francisco Koberstein (although there is controversy in Hobus the Pastor was the first). Fiori (1991), explains that, for the descendants of foreign - such as "Südarm" was to develop a system of schools where make the distinction between urban areas maintained by school corporations, belonging to the religious congregations and schools or Community colonial (typical of rural areas and low population density). These schools are fit and foreign, in which one or most subjects were taught in foreign language, even if the teacher would be Brazilian nationality. My grandparents were Maximilian Erich Hörhammer (7/8/1902-11/9/1974) married with Wilhelmine Koberstein and the siblings of her: Gustav Koberstein (3/3/1909), Gerard Koberstein (17/11/1914), Frieda Koberstein (26/5/1917) and Reinhold Koberstein (1/12/1922).  I should correct that Friedrich Koberstein his wife Justine Saide with four children arrived first to Uruguay where Wilhermine married M. E. Hörhammer, (in the department of Cannelonis, Uruguay) and then they traveled to Argentina where you resided, I understand that Gerard arrives later here. I look forward to any additional information on this family, which I had not know about previously.  Much thanks to Diego for providing this information.
October 7, 2012 With great sadness I learned from Stefan Robertz that his aunt, Josefine Hildegard Maria ROBERTZ born on 29 Dec 1922, Daughter of Maria Elisabeth KOBERSTEIN and Hermann ROBERTZ passed away on Sept. 04 2012. in Bergheim at the age of 89.  She was suffering from her age and was being taken care of by her sons Wolfgang and Jürgen at her home in Bergheim in Germany.  The funeral was Sept. 11th, 10:00 CEST in Bergheim.  The Ancestral file has been updated.
October 5, 2012 The 1940 United States Federal Census has been extracted for all Koberstein's and linked to know family lines.  A number of new links have been made.  Take a look at the 1940 census and see if the linkages are correct.  Let me know if you can lin any Koberstein names for which I don't kown the family connection.  I have found 269 Koberstein (including variations such as Koberstine, Kobersteen as well as extraction/spelling errors of Koberstien, R used instead of K etc.).  I have been able to link 95% or 256 of them to existing information.  I found one family in Wisconsin, Outagamie county that was unknown before.  Does anyone know which family line they belong to?  Typically this more current cencus data gave infomation on Koberstein born after the 1930 census and before 1940.  Hope you enjoy this easy access to the 1940 census for U.S. Koberstein families complete with links to the actual census sheets.

April 25, 2012 With sadness we note the passing of Clifford Edwin Koberstein, 94, died April 7, 2012, at his home in Kennewick, Washington.  Funeral services were at10 a.m. Friday, April 11, 2012, at the Taylor Funeral Service Chapel in Delta Colorado. Burial was at the Eckert Cemetery.  Survivors include one sister, Wilhelmine “Billie” Pauline Han; two sons, Jerrold Lee Koberstein and Rodney Clifford Koberstein; three daughters, Cheryll Elaine Austin, Renee Siminoe and Merrianne Door; nine grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren and four great-great-grandchildren.

Allan retired as a custodian with the Salem Public School District in 2003. He was highly respected for his vocal talent, and won the International Barbershop Quartet Championship with his quartet, the Mark IV in 1969. A native of Urach, Germany, Mr. Scheufele was born December 7, 1927, a son of the late Herman and Alma Eisele Scheufele. He was a Mechanical Engineer, a U.S. Army Korea veteran and member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Erie, Pa. Mr. Scheufele was preceded in death by four brothers Herman, Karl, Werner and Gunther Scheufele, all of Riederich, Germany. Surviving are his wife, Helga Scheufele; three daughters, Susi Willis and husband, Ted, of Erie, Pa., Ingrid Koberstein and her husband, Hans, of Sindelfingen, Germany, Christa Eibl and her husband, Carl, of Rock Hill; a son, Marty Scheufele, and his wife, Teresa, of Atlanta, Ga.; a sister, Doris Knodel, and her husband, Martin, of Sindelfingen, Germany; five grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. 90 of Scottsdale, Arizona, passed away on September 9, 2011. She was born August 26, 1921 in Seward, NE. She married Roy Koberstein and moved to MN where they had two sons, Roy, Jr. and Michael. Margaret was a hairdresser along with her husband and sons in Minneapolis. They moved to Phoenix in 1968 and started an insulation manufacturing business. She is survived by her daughter-in-law Sandra Koberstein, granddaughters Shawn (Eric) Cashman, Chris Koberstein, Hastie Koberstein and several great grandchildren. Memorial Service will be held September 17, 2011 at 11:00 A.M. at Shadow Mountain Mortuary, 2350 E. Greenway Road, Phoenix. December 4, 2010 A new source of records for the Chelm/Lublin area of what is now Poland has revealed many new Koberstein families.  This appears to extend the Koberstein family line that Karl and Gustav Koberstein Immigrated to Canada.
June, 11, 2010 The Hamburg Emigration Passenger Lists had entries for Julius and Matilde Koberstein.  I have been able to put together and interesting biography of this couple that immigrated to the United States.
June, 4, 2010 Recently the Hamburg Emigration Passenger Lists were published to the internet.  I was able to search for Koberstein and was delighted to find emmigration information about Koberstein's going to Brazil which connects with one of the two Koberstein families I know of in southern Brazil.  The root individual Emil Koberstein (data base known as Emil) was in the list.  However on the same passenger list I found his apparent parents, Franz (age 58) and Wilhelmina age 56) Koberstein and their daughter, Frieda (age 15). Since they are all listed as traveling on the same ship and time, I have to assume that Emil (age 32) is the son to Franz and Wilhelmina. Therefore Emil would be brother to Frieda. See the Emil database and the passenger list information.  I had some time before received information about a Francisco, who it is clear is the full name for this Franz.  "My name is Marcos Schroeder, 39 years old, born in Rio do Sul, State of Santa Catarina, South of Brazil. Since many years I search about my ancestors and towns where they lived. I know that the first teacher in Rio do Sul (at that time Südarm, later Bela Aliança and finally Rio do Sul) was Franz KOBERSTEIN. He was born at 06.06.1846 and died at 30.07.1924. I have only this information about him and know that exist some families descendents in Rio do Oeste, near to Rio do Sul and others in Paraná, another State ."  Also more information about this Franz, "The first school that is on record, belonged to the Evangelical Lutheran Community, dated in the year 1908. ... The teacher of the school name was Francisco Koberstein (although there is controversy in Hobus the Pastor was the first). Fiori (1991), explains that, for the descendants of foreign - such as "Südarm" was to develop a system of schools where make the distinction between urban areas maintained by school corporations, belonging to the religious congregations and schools or Community colonial (typical of rural areas and low population density). These schools are fit and foreign, in which one or most subjects were taught in foreign language, even if the teacher would be Brazilian nationality. And that is where the problems begin Lutheran School in Rio do Sul."

November 21, 2008 Because of the indications that Joseph Koberstein died after 1947 in the book "Koberstein Genealogie".  I visited the Columbia, Pennsylvania county court house in Bloomsburg.  They only have birth records from 1893-1905, no Koberstein's (possible descendants for Joseph) were found.  All vital records after 1905 are private and held by Pennsylvania  Department of Vital Records as told to me at state facility in Scranton, PA room 112, 100 Lackawanna Ave.  The death records prior to 1905, I was told at Bloomsburg, are held by the Columbia county historical society.  I searched their web site and got no Koberstein records.  Bloomsburg office staff indicated that earlier records would be keep at churchs, other places, or not at all.

November 8, 2008 Discovered a new source of genealogical information with Passport Applications on Ancestry.com.  There are five Koberstein listings so far.  Two (Charles and Joseph) are from New Jersey and are part of the Matys family line (family of author of Koberstein Genealogie book).  The exciting thing about these records is they give their birthplace in Germany as Grevenbroich. This also links to the 1900 U.S. Federal Census which adds one descendant genreation with Charles children (Charles and Joseph).  The Matys PAF indicates Joseph died in Cloverton, Columbia, Pennsylvania which is now a lead to find more descendants.  Two (George and Ludwig) are from Columbia county, Wisconsin and are from the Karl Oregon line.  One (Frank Henry) is from the Henry NY line in Broklyn NY.

October 20, 2007 Found Ohio death certificate for Christian Koberstein which gave his father as Martin Koberstein and mother as Anna Maria Fitz.  This extends this line one more generation.  Christian immigrated from Ukrane on July 12, 1922.  Since Christian was born in Sudelko, Ukraine I suspect his parents did not immigrate to the United States.  I do not have the location of Sudelko so I suspect I do not have a correct spelling.

February 15, 2006 Dr. Alexander Scheel-Exner provided information on his grandfathers parents in the form of a marriage record for Karl Otto Emil Exner born 14.11.1881 and Charlotte Marie Otilie Anna Koberstein born 24.05.1894 both born in Berlin.  Married on 15 April 1912 in Berlin, Germany.
December 1, 2005 Discovered Paul Koberstein in Buffalo, New York who is probable father to Carl August Koberstein of the same area.  I have not found a record that lists Paul with Carl August as child as yet, however the age is correct and the location is correct.  Since they were both born in Prussia, a record of them together will be found there.  Paul was married to Rosalie who had children by a previous marriage (Caroline, Lena, and Richard).  In his latter years he married a Helena who was considerably younger than himself.  This information was derived primarily from U.S. Federal Census records for 1880, 1900, and 1920.  I have a record (Hamburg Emigration List) showing Paul, already a U.S. citizen returning to Buffalo, New York.  He is listed with the occupation of journalist (same as in the 1880 and 1920 cencus) going to Buffalo via New York, NY in June of 1909.  This record is verified in the Ellis Island data base.  Also in the Ellis Island data base I find his son Carl (Karl) arriving in September 1909. This is consistant with him going over and helping to arrange for them to join him in the U.S.  Carl was listed as formerly living in Berlin, Germany.  In the Ellis Island record he lists his nearest relative from the country he came from as his step sister Hulde Gulsdorf from Raumerswalde near Landsburg.  Very importantly I have a Paul Koberstein located in the village of Blumenthal which is very near Raumerswalde.  To see proximity go to my Landsberg large map.  See also the news article on the Editor Paul Koberstein which casts some questions into all this information.
December 6, 2004 Created a tabular compilation of  Koberstein immigrants to America with years of immigration given in the 1900, 1910, 1920, and 1930 U.S. Census's.  This work in progress also gives the passenger list information for those it has been found.  The goal of this compilation is to help in identifiing the time of immigration and ultimately make a connection to their home land and village.

September 30, 2004 The Lines of George Koberstein from St. Croix county (georgewi), Wisconsin was connected into the Johann Koberstein line in Columbia county, Wisconsin, part of which moved to Oregon (karlor).  The key evidence was the 1910 U.S. Federal Cencus for St. Croix county that linked the George Rudolph Koberstein Sr. family as the son of Johann Koberstein in Columbia county Wisconsin.  Inital indications were found in the WWI military draft registration record for George Rudolph Koberstein Jr.  The Columbia Koberstein's include Freeman Koberstein, a Piano Professor at Oberlin College (Biography).

June 15, 2003 Located a new line of Koberstein's with Christian and Anna as parents and Rudolf as son.  Rudolf was found in a newspaper article at Elyria Ohio with his wife Adofena, then his parents and he were listed on the Ellis Island immigration database (final destination Cleveland, Ohio).  Rudolf is also listed in the Social Security Death Index.
June 13, 2003 Proven link of William Koberstein (b,1896) as part of Ernst Wilhelm Koberstein (b.1851 Lansberg, Prussia).
June 9, 2003 Determined that Bertha Koberstein was sister to Auguste Rissman nee Koberstein who was from Sternburg.
June 9, 2003 Determined that Berthold Koberstein of Winnebago, Wisconsin was from Landsburg.
June 8, 2003 The International Genealogical index was found to give christening records for four more children of Gottfried Carl Koberstein which were christened in Kittisford, Somerset, England.
June 7, 2003 Just noticed an interesting possible connection between the Indiana line (Adam) of Kobersteins and the Oregon/Wisconsin (Johann) line they both have origins in Volkersleier, Bavaria, Germany.  Both lines are on the Germany map (Adam and Johann) with lines pointing to Volkersleier.  To see the Volkersleier connection on the Johann line look under the notes for Johann.  Any help you have in connecting these lines would be appreciated.
June 1, 2003 I believe a connection between Carl Koberstein (who took on the spelling of Kobersteen) and Ludwig Koberstein and family.  A key lead was a newspaper article where in Carl's brother John visited him in Sheboygan.  The data under Ludwig is not compatiable with a birth for Carl of Mar 1888 and John of October 11, 1888 (only 7 months betwen them).  However the birth date for John is based on birth data on a death certificate whereas the 1900 cencus gives a birth of May 1890 (this should be more reliable since the record is closer to the birth event).
May 30, 2003 I came across a new reference to Mick Koberstein at the web site "Phil's Home Page", this is from the United Kingdom.  If anyone has any more information on these Koberstein's please let know.
May 27, 2003 Found a number of newspaper articles about Freeman Koberstein who was a Professor at Oberlin College in Piano.  Here is a biography from these newspaper articles and the social security death index and 1930 cencus.  He was born April 1, 1914 in Wisconsin.  I have not been able to connect this family.  If you have any ideas let me know.  Theres is numerous articles about Dr. Carl G. Koberstein as well leading to the idea that they may be related.
January 1, 2003 Compiled all of the Koberstein individuals from the 1930 U.S. Federal Cencus.  I am compiling what new information these documents provide.  A new daughter, Margaret M., is added to the Adolf Koberstein family.  more coming.  A new daughter, Pauline, of Alfred and Elsie Koberstein of Michigan.  Found additional information for Herman Koberstein (wife and two children along with inlaws).  Additional daughter (Esther I.) for Harry (Herman H.) Koberstein.  A second daughter, Violet M, was found for Reineholt Koberstein.
December 25, 2002 After contact with Todd Bolen added information for Nicholas Koberstine who immigrated from Hirschfeld, Bayern, Germany to Maryland.
December 5, 2002 After contact with Gary Kobersteen Kelly added the Kobersteen line which appears to originally have the spelling of Koberstein.  This includes Carl as well as a possible brother Garfield.
December 4, 2002 Added an apparently new line of Koberstein's in Wisconsin, Sheboygan county starting with Berthold.
November 23, 2002 Obtained a copy of the ship manifest for Adam Koberstein.  Extraction of ship manifest of the Ship Kaiser Wilhelm der Grosse sailing from Bremen on July 1 1913. He is listed as George Alsheimer alias Adam Koberstein. His age was 22 (giving a calculated birthyear of 1891). Sex is given as 'M' and marital status give as 'single'. Calling or occupation is indicated as 'farmlab' which I assume means farm laborer. He was indicated as able to read and write. His nationality and race is given as German and last permanent residence given as Folgersleier, Germany (I believe this is actually Volkersleier). The nearest relative in the country whence alien came was mother give as last name Koberstein and maybe first initial of 'N', but the first initial is not clear. The final destination is given as Haubstadt, Ind. The column that answers the question "Whether having a ticket to such final destination" is written what appears to be a cursive "S". What that means is unclear. His ticket for passage (on the ship presumably) is indicated as being paid by himself. He is indicated as being in possession of 50$ but in smaller numerals it is obvious that 25 was written probably first. It is indicated that he was never in the U.S. before. He was going to an uncle name Karl Koberstein in Haubstadt, Ind. He indicated he was not a polygamist or an Anarchist with good mental and physical health and not crippled or deformed. His height was 5' 6". The Birthplace is given as Ludwigsdorf, Hungary. The country is from a dito mark to a previous entry, however that seems unlikely given the close proximity of a Ludwigsdorf, Germany to Volkersleier, Germany.
November 16, 2002 Obtained a copy of the ship manifest for Karl and Bertha Koberstein.  It contains important clues to origin (see image and notes).  Manifest of Alien passengers on the ship President Grant sailing from Cuxhaven on August 22, 1909  Koberstein, Karl(43), and wife Bertha(39) with sons Karl(15), Willy(10), Kurt(9), Hubert(4), and daughter Erna(2). Karl the husband is indicated to be a butcher. Also could read and write except Hubert and Erna. The last permanent residence was shown as Berlin, Germany. The name of the nearest relative or friend from county from whence the alien came was Hulda Gülsdorf from Rainnerswalde near Landsberg YW. The destination was indicated as Buffalo, New York.
October 20, 2002 Found records for Ludwig Sr. and Martin Koberstein of Wisconsin that show they are from Colonie Brinsk, Strasburg, West Prussia and both are descendants of Christoph Koberstein, several brothers and sisters were also found.

September 5, 2002 Found another child for Bruno B. Koberstein, Selma from the 1930 cencus record.
August 8, 2002 Evangelical baptism records were found for Ludwig and Gottlieb of the Ludwig Koberstein Sr. line and Wilhelm of the Martin Koberstein line in Brinsk, Kries Strasburg, West Prussia.  Work continues to prove this probable connection between Ludwig Sr. and Martin and the new data from this source.  New records will be added here as they become extracted.

January 4, 2002 The obituary for Robert P. Koberstein, died April 16, 2001 in Aurora, Illinois was found in "The Grand Island Independent" published Wednesday, April 18, 2001.  Also an obituary for Susan Lepard who died Monday, May 8, 2000 in Arlington, Texas in the same paper published Thursday, May 11, 2000.

August 11, 2001 Recently received new information from Lisa Susan Paige Koberstein on the Friedrich Ernst Koberstein family from Koltschen showing  new ancestor as August Koberstein.  Also she found information on other Koberstein's in the area.
August 11, 2001 A physical search of original vital record books was done in Sheboygan and Dodge county Wisconsin, but no Koberstein's were found.
August 30, 2001 A search of the Family History Library in Salt Lake City original passenger lists where Ludwig Koberstein was found did not show any evidence for family members coming over at the same time.
