Berthold listed in the 1900 Wisconsin Status cencus with birth of Dec 1860 and mother Augusta and on Germans To America with an 1828 calculated birth year. and on the Brandenburg emmigration list with an 1828 calculated birth date also. form Ancestry.com with immigration date of 1856 and Place of Origin as Balz/Landberg and occupation of Eigenthuemersohn, the age of 27 gives a calculated birth year of 1829. If this correlates this would have to be the father with the same first name (Berthold) and the grave marker would be for the son (Berthold). Cemeteries in Columbia County, Wisconsin
Durward's Glen Cemetery
Thanks to Deb J. for providing this transcription of the stones in this cemetery! On November 1, 1862 Scotish immigrants Bernard I and Margaret Durward moved to land now known as Durward's Glen. In 1866 they donated land for a cemetery and built a stone chapel known as Saint Mary of the Pines. On Sept 8, 1932 Bernard's daughter Mary T. deeded the Glen to the Order of St. Camillus. The first burial took place in 1863. The cemetery book was destroyed in a fire in 1946. There have been newspaper article and books published about the Durward family and the Glen. They can be located in local libraries, historical socities and the Wisconsin State Historical Scociety in Madison WI. Transciptions completed Aug 2002.

Saint Camillus Novitiate Cemetery a/k/a Durwards Glen Cemetery - State Road 78 west of Interstate 90/94 to Durwards Glen, north on Durwards Glen to McLeisch, cemetery on west side.
Big Spring Cemetery is located in New Haven Township, Adams County, WI. To get there, take Hwy 23 East out of Wisconsin Dells (towards Briggsville). You will go about 7 miles before you come to Hwy G. Turn Left onto Hwy G. Go about 1.5 miles, and there will be a old white church that has been recently painted on your Right. Turn Right. This is 3rd Avenue. The cemetery is on your Right, about 500 feet from the church. It covers a rolling hill. Older stones are in the front, newer ones in the back. There area a lot of big old trees surrounding this cemetery. In this cemetery, the rows start at the Western fence (older stones), and run North to South. My goal is to complete this cemetery before Winter, but this may not happen.

Calvary Cemetery-St Cecilia's Catholic Church
During 1871 - 1873 Fr. William De Kelver was appointed the first resident pastor of St. Cecilia Parish. During his pastorate, the first rectory was built and it remained the rectory until February 2005 when it was demolished to make room for Worship space expansion. Calvary Cemetery was established during his tenure. Calvary Cemetery Association was formed July 27, 1869. Land for the cemetery was purchased August 6, 1869 for $30.00.
