Sankt Jokobi was inaugurated in 1845. In front of the church stands a sandstone statue of the Apostle Jacobus by Professor Hopfgarten which was a gift from Friedrich of William IV. At the inauguration on 5 October 1845 the church had an organ built by the organ building masters, Schulze Paulinzella. It also had three bells.  The organ burned along with the church in 1945.
