Birthyear calculated from 1870 cencus age of 50 and this gives a year of 1820 which is the same as that in the "Genealogie Koberstein" book. The information from Goodhue County Historical Society gave the 1818 date which is probably the most accurate.
On the Colonie Brinsk Taufen records he is listed as "Kolonist" for both children, Gottlieb and Ludwig Jr.

Caroline KAPITSKY (KOPISCHKE OR KOPISKE)

abn Obit for - Mrs. Amelia (George) Koberstein b. 2/7/1872 d. 7//14/1937. Her parents were August & Augusta (Kroky) Voge. They were both born in Germany. Gotlieb Koberstein - b. 4/26/1884 Keynon, Mn. d. 1/31/1922. He was a farmer. His parents were Louis & Caroline (Kapitsky) Korberstein. They both came from Germany. As per research by Imgard Hensel from Lutheran records for Lautenburg.
Married on the 24 Dec 1837 were in Lautenburg: Ludwig Koberstein, 18 years old and the widow Caroline Wendland, nee Kopischke, residing at Kolonie Brynsk, age 27, age 27 years old.
Note: records from the same source show last name of Caroline spelled as Kopiske in birth records of some of their children.
That seems to correlate with the listing in Koberstein Genealogie for birth of Ludwig Koberstein in 1820 (Alt Hutte) with witnesses of Matthias Tanke, Christian Wendtland, and Susanne Wendtland. That is interesting, because the ancestral Ludwig Koberstein married Caroline Wendland, nee Kopischki.
Also in my records I note that a land record neighbor of Ludwig Koberstein in Marquette county, Wisconsin was also a Wend(t)land.Hamburg Passenger Lists:

Delia born 1867 died and buried in Spokane County
Amelia born 1870 died April 1962 buried in West Greenwood Cemetery Spokane WA
Bertha born 1872 died 1955 buried in West Greenwood Cemetery Spokane WA
August records confirmed
The federal census of 1870 lists William, Augusta, Minnie, Odelia and Emelia. If you transfer this information to the 1880 census for age, Autida is the age of Odelia plus ten, and Metra is the age of Amelia plus ten.
Augusta married Julius Hoffman (unsure of spelling)
Delia never married.
Amelia married John Frazer.
Bertha married William Frazer.

You have come up with the info about Johann that I didn't have.
We knew Odelia as Delia and Emelia as Amelia.
I believe Odelia and Autida are the same person.
Also Emelia and Metra are the same person.
There were no twins in the family.
Let me know your theory regarding these individuals.

The sequential birth of three daughters with the first name of Caroline needs to be clairified genealogicaly as to why this naming practice would be done. On further looking at the record for the first Caroline, she has a first name which needs more work to decipher. The other Caroline's have second or even third names, Caroline Wilhelmine for the second Caroline and Caroline Justine Wilhelmine for the third Caroline. Thus the three Caroline's all have distinct names, but carrying the Caroline name. I suspect Caroline must have been very meaningfull to Johann. It would also appear that Justine is very meaningful.

Wikipedia states, "19th century: industrialization and railway hub[edit]
After the Congress of Vienna of 1815, Prussia regained the town once again. After the Prussian administrative reforms of 1916-18, the town belonged to Kolmar county inside the Province of Posen. The Polish language was restricted from offices and education and the city saw a significant influx of German settlers. By 1834 Schneidemühl had barely recovered from the worst outbreak of cholera of 1831, an epidemic that affected the town's burghers to such an extent that a special Protestant cholera cemetery had to be laid out in the town's suburb Berliner Vorstadt. In the summer of 1834 the city was again struck by a fire that destroyed a large part of the city centre and the city archives. The city was rebuilt shortly afterwards.
In 1851 the city was connected to Berlin and Bydgoszcz (Bromberg) by the Prussian Eastern Railway. An architectural artifact which remains from the railway development period is a historical roundhouse.
The Germanization policy of the Prussian and Imperial German government replaced its Polish identity with a German one. By the end of the 19th century the city had become one of the most important railway centers of the region and one of the biggest towns in the Province of Posen. It was turned into a Prussian military garrison town. Schneidemühl was revisited by a catastrophe, known as the Brunnenunglück, or the ‘calamity of the well’ that made national headlines. The drilling of an artesian well in August 1892 went horribly wrong and led to unexpected widespread flooding of many of the streets laid out in 1834, causing numerous houses to simply collapse and leaving more than eighty families without shelter. The worst was that this disaster came only a few years on the heels of unexpected flooding caused by the spring thaw of March 1888 that had turned the Küddow into a raging river, when many people were forced to use rowboats to navigate the streets"
This gives good reason for teh Koenig family to move away after her birth in 1826. this may account for her meeting Johann Friedrick Gottfried Koberstein.
