KOBERSTEIN, Mary Jane Alice (Epperson) (Age 88)
Born November 12, 1918 in Sterling, Colorado to Edna and Charles Epperson; passed away December 9, 2006 in Spokane. She was preceded in death by her parents and by her brothers: John, Kenneth, and Perry; her husband of 68 years, Floyd. Mary and Floyd lived in Pullman, Washington, where Mary worked as a dental assistant. In 1956, they purchased a theatre in Pomeroy, Washington, which they successfully ran until 1978. Mary worked for the Soils Conservation Service. In 1979 they retired to Sunsites, Arizona, where she was active in the Sunsites Country Club and the local Bridge Club. Failing health forced a move back to Washington. She will be missed by her son, Bill; daughter-in-law, Karen; grandchildren: Scott and Kristy, both of Surprise, Arizona; six great-grandchildren; brother, Keith; and numerous nieces and nephews. Private family services will be held. Arrangements have been entrusted to Hennessey-Smith Funeral Home, Spokane, WA

Karissa Koberstein is the daughter of Ronald and Claudia Koberstein of Holyoke. She is a graduate of the University of Northern Colorado and she works for Weld County School District 6.
Kevin is the son of Martin and Mary Liscano of Evans. He is a graduate of the University of Northern Colorado and works for Rent a Center.

I am Debra (Koberstein) Minton, the daugher of Ralph E.Koberstein. (This is being posted 3-27-07)
My Grandfather was Herman W. Koberstein, born 5-26-1888. He had many brothers and sisters including Otto, Fred, Ernest, Richard, Pauline (Leach), Bertha, Anna, and Elizabeth.. (Three or four of these peole lived to be over a 100 years old,) I have heard that my grandfather, Herman, was in the Navy and sailed around the world with Teddy Roosevelt's Great White Fleet, prior to World War I.
My father was Ralph Everett Koberstein, son of Herman W. Koberstein. . There is apparently a listing somewhere showing that Esther Koberstein was the sister of Ralph E. Koberstein. This is incorrect. Ralph was adopted by Herman and Margaret Koberstein in Nebraska, when Ralph was one year old. (about 1913.) Ralph's family name was Dollard, apparently his mother, (Maude Zollinger Dollard) died and his father took four kids around in a farm wagon, and gave them away to neighbors. Thank goodness for my dad's adoption into the Koberstein family. Herman and Margaret had no addiitional children, so I don't know who Esther is.
Herman and Margaret moved out of Nebraska some time in the 1920's, and they did own a tea room in Colorado for a couple of years. My dad, Ralph, graduated from Prospect Valley Colorado High School in 1930. Herman and Margaret moved to the South Denver/Aurora Colorado area in the 1930's, and they raised turkeys.
Herman and Margaret were divorced soon after 1940, and she moved to California, remarred, and her new name name was Margaret Hayes. She died in San Bernardino in 1976.
Herman married Leora Conklin Koberstein, sometime around World War II. Leora and Herman had my uncle, Terrell "Terry":L. Koberstein, in 1947, so he was my dad's 1/2 brother, but there was 35 years difference in age. I was born in 1948. So, Terry is my uncle, even though we are only a year apart. Herman and Leora were married for over 40 years and were successful real-estate developers in the South Denver area. Leora passed away in about 1987, and my grandfather, Herman, passed away at the age of 101, in 1989. Terrell *Terry" married his college sweetheart, Betty Anne Pray, in December of 1967. They live in Texas. Their children, Stacey Leigh and Amy Lynn have acontributed to this website.
My dad, Ralph, married my mom, Nancy Cassai Koberstein (from Walsenburg, Colorado) in 1940. My dad was in the Navy Sea Bees in World War II. He owned and operated service stations in the east Denver area in the 1950's and 1960's, then went to work for the City of Aurora, Colorado until he retired in 1977 He died the next year, in 1978, and is buried at Ft. Logan Cemetery in Denver. My mom married Bill Fitpold, in 1989, He had been her boss in the 1940's. Bill died in about 1992, and my mom, Nancy, passed away in 1998.
I was born and raised in Denver, and now live in Littleton, Colorado. I have been divorced for many years, and work for the Department of Veterans Affairs, in Lakewood, Colorado. I have two children, Tyler Jackson, who was born in November of 1970, and Elisa Jackson Setzer, who was born in December of 1973. Tyler lives in Denver and Elisa lives in Raleigh, N.C.

Rod and Sondra Koberstein celebrate 50th anniversary

Rod and Sondra (Neuburger) Koberstein of Loveland celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary on Dec. 28, 2016. The couple was married on Dec. 28, 1966, in Loveland.Sondra moved to Loveland in 1952 and Rod moved to Loveland in 1961. They met through a mutual friend.
Rod retired from the City of Loveland Parks Division in 2005. He enjoys spending time with family, travelling to Lake Havasu and taking his '47 Ford Custom and his '29 Model A street rod pickup to events.
Sondra retired from Longs Peak Credit Union in 2009. She enjoys spending time with family, traveling to Lake Havasu and gardening.
Their children are Lisa Cortese and Scott Koberstein with wife Michelle, all of Loveland. They also have four grandchildren.
They believe they have reached this milestone through friendship, communication, compromise, and remembering to not sweat the small stuff.
