ARLINGTON, Texas -- Susan Ann LePard, 52, of Arlington, Texas,
died at her home following a brief illness on Monday, May 8, 2000.Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Friday at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Aurora. The Revs. John Keefe and Victor Derwinski will officiate.
Burial will be in the Aurora Cemetery. Higby Mortuary in Aurora is in charge of arrangements. Mrs. LePard was born in Kansas City, Mo. on July 1, 1947 to Walter and Mary (Koberstein) LePard. She grew up and attended school in Kansas City, Mo. She was a member of the Catholic faith. Survivors include her mother and stepfather, Mary Alice and Hoot Gibson of Aurora; her father, Walter LePard of Independence, Mo.; and two stepsisters, Leanne Wilkinson of Blue Springs, Mo. and Kristen Moorhead of Independence, Mo.

AURORA -- Robert P. Koberstein, 72, of Aurora Monday, April 16, 2001, at Memorial Hospital. Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Thursday at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Aurora. The Rev. John Keefe will officiate. Burial will be in the Aurora Cemetery. Visitation will be from 3 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at Higby Mortuary in Aurora.
Mr. Koberstein was born March 13, 1929, to Otto A. and Pearl A. (Joyce) Koberstein in a private home in Lewellen. He attended country school through the second grade. After completing grammar school at Scarritt School in Kansas City, Mo., he graduated from Manual High School.
His first part-time employment was in the manufacture of women's hats in a "sweat shop," where steam was used to shape the felt into hats. In 1948, he joined the Kansas City Fire Department at the age of 19. He joined the Army in 1951. He completed training at Counter Intelligence Corps in Ft. Halibird, Md. He was stationed in Japan during the Korean War and was discharged in 1953, at San Francisco. In 1952, he raised turkeys with his dad on the South Tableland near Lewellen in the summer.
He married Delores Bartholomew on Dec. 31, 1954, at Kansas City, Mo. He graduated from Finlay Engineering College in Kansas City in 1956 with a bachelor of science in mechanical engineering degree.
He was involved with the space program at Patrick Air Force Base in Florida when the Russians launched their Sputnik satellite and was also at Patrick Air Force Base when the first U.S. satellite blew up on the pad.
After receiving his bachelor of science in electrical engineering in 1960, he went to work as a field manager for the Bendix Corp. on the East Coast. He transferred to the Bendix Launch Division as a senior engineer and quality control manager. He was there from the start of the Apollo Moon Program in 1965 until its successful completion in 1973.
He moved to Aurora and acquired an Interstate Battery franchise.
Survivors include his wife; one daughter, Paula (Mrs. LaMoyne) Danhauer of Aurora; one grandson; and one sister, Mary (Mrs. Harold) Gibson of Aurora.
He was preceded in death by one brother, James.

OBITUARY: ROBERT KOBERSTEINRobert Paul Koberstein, the son of Otto August and Pearl Anna (Joyce) Koberstein, was born in a private home in Lewellen, Nebraska on March 13, 1929 during a blizzard and died in Aurora, Nebraska on April 16, 2001, at the age of 72 years.
Bob was the youngest of three children born. He attended country school with his sister Mary Alice through the second grade. After completing grammar school at Scarritt School in Kansas City, Missouri he graduated from Manual High School.

Robert is survived by his wife Delores of Aurora; daughter, Paula Danhauer and her husband LaMoyne of Aurora; grandson, Zachary Danhauer of Lincoln; and a sister, Mary (Mrs. Harold) Gibson of Aurora.

Delores Koberstein, age 80, of Aurora, died Saturday, March 21, 2009, at the Hamilton Manor.

Delores Arlene Koberstein, the daughter of Edson Ralph and Pearl CIara (Motsinger) Bartholomew, was born in Pittsburg, Kansas on October 25, 1928 and died in Aurora, Nebraska on March 21, 2009, at the age of 80.
She grew up in Pittsburg, Kansas and later moved to Kansas City, Missouri where she graduated from Northeast High School. Delores attended Kansas City Community College and then went to work for Equitable Life Assurance.
Delores married Robert P. Koberstein on December 31, 1954 at Kansas City, Missouri. They moved to Florida, where she worked at Patrick Air Force Base. They moved to Aurora and purchased an Interstate Battery franchise serving central Nebraska, with stores in Aurora and Grand Island. Robert passed away on April 16, 2001.
She was preceded in death by her parents and step-mother, Neva Bartholomew.
Those left to cherish her memory are her daughter, Paula (LaMoyne) Danhauer of Aurora; grandson, Zachary (Annie) Danhauer of Aurora; sister-in-law, Mary (Harold) Gibson of Aurora and two great-grandchildren, Torri & Landon Danhauer of Aurora.

Former Delta County Resident, Clifford Edwin Koberstein, passed away peacefully on Saturday, April 7, 2012 at his residence in Kennewick, Washington. He was 94 years of age.
Clifford Edwin Koberstein was born to Ernest Henry and Marie Dorene (Kuehne) Koberstein on May 7, 1917 in Lewellen, Nebraska. He spent his childhood in Lewellen and Oshkosh, Nebraska. Clifford graduated from Oshkosh High School with the class of 1935.
On December 24, 1936, Clifford married the love of his life Sally Lois Simpson in Sidney, Nebraska. To this union, five children were born. Clifford and Sally had the honor of sharing over 70 years of marriage together before Sally’s passing on December 16, 2007 in Tucson, Arizona.
Clifford, a retired carpenter and rancher, enjoyed gardening; fishing, hunting, riding his horse and hosting a fun filled time out to dinner. More importantly, with his crystal blue eyes, he loved and cherished his family and close friends. He will be remembered for his beautiful smile and life well lived.

Clifford is survived by one sister, Wilhelmine “Billie” Pauline Han and two sons, Jerrold Lee (Voda) Koberstein and Rodney Clifford (Sondra) Koberstein; three daughters: Cheryll Elaine (Gordon) Austin, Renee (Ben) Siminoe, and Merrianne (Jim) Door.
Clifford is further survived by nine grandchildren, fourteen great-grandchildren, and four great great- grandchildren.
Services
A Funeral Service honoring Clifford’s life will be held at 10:00 a.m., Friday, April 13, 2012 at the Taylor Funeral Service Chapel, 682 1725 Road in Delta, Colorado, with James Gall presiding.
A viewing for family and friends will be held one hour prior to service.
Burial will be held at Eckert Cemetery.
Arrangements are under the care and direction of Taylor Funeral Service and Crematory.

Former Delta County resident Sally Koberstein went home to be with her Lord on Dec. 16. She was 91.
On April 26, 1916, Sally was born the daughter of George Matthew and Rosalie Helen (Kleist) Simpson in Oshkosh, Neb. She spent her childhood in Oshkosh and went to school there.
On Dec. 24, 1936, Sally married the love of her life, Clifford Koberstein near Sidney, Neb. Cliff and Sally spent 39 years in Colorado before moving to Arizona in 1982. They were residing in Tucson, Ariz. Together they shared over 71 years of love and marriage together.
Sally was a loving wife and mother to her five children. She enjoyed decorating their home and she cherished the memories she shared with her family.
Those grateful to have shared in Sally's life include her beloved husband, Clifford Koberstein; and five children and their spouses: Cheryll (Gordon) Austin, Jerry (Voda) Koberstein, Rodney (Sondra) Koberstein, Renee (Ben) Siminoe and Merrianne (Jim) Door. She is further survived by nine grandchildren: Shelley Wijnhamer, Lori Garcia, Corde Austin, Heather Frazier, Rodney Koberstein, Lisa Cortez, Scott Koberstein, Brian Siminoe and Nathan Door; 13 great-grandchildren: Travis, Tara, Brandon, Jasmine, Miles, Luke, Caleb, Matthew, Katie, Cameron, Nicole, Brett and Zane; and one great-great-grandchild, Landon, with another great-great-grandchild on the way.
Sally was preceded in death by her parents, one brother and one sister.
A funeral service will be held at 10 a.m., Saturday, Dec. 22, at the Cedaredge Taylor Funeral Service Chapel, with James Gall presiding. Interment will follow at the Eckert Cemetery.

Wilhelmine "Billie" K. Hannan, 94, of Fremont passed away Sunday, Feb. 16, 2014, at A.J. Merrick Manor in Fremont.Billie was born April 27, 1919, on a ranch north of Lewellen to Ernest and Marie (Kuehne) Koberstein.
Billie married William T. Hannan on May 25, 1941, in Lincoln. He preceded her in death on Feb. 22, 2004. The couple lived various places due to William’s military service. After his service, they moved to a farm north of Mead, where they raised their five sons. They moved to Grand Island in 1963, where the couple retired. She moved to Fremont in 2012.
She was a member of St. Patrick's Catholic Church in Fremont. She enjoyed spending time with her family and friends, golfing, playing bridge, and reading.
Survivors include: her sons, William and Nancy Hannan and Robert Hannan, both of Mead, Richard and Linda Hannan of Greeley, Colo., and J.P. and Candi Hannan of Mead; 10 grandchildren; and 13 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; son, Michael Hannan; and two brothers, Cliff and Ernie Koberstein.
The funeral Mass will be 10 a.m. Friday at St. Patrick’s Catholic Church in Fremont with the Rev. David Belt officiating. Visitation will be from 5-8 p.m. Thursday at Moser Memorial Chapel in Fremont with a vigil service at 7 p.m. Visitation will continue one hour prior to service time Friday at the church. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery in Fremont.
Memorials may be directed to the American Cancer Society for research or Fremont Area Medical Center Hospice.

William T. "Bill" Hannan, 85, of Grand Island died Sunday, Feb. 22, 2004, at his home.
Hannan was born July 2, 1918, on the family farm north of Mead. He graduated from Fremont High School in 1935. He graduated from the University of Nebraska-Lincoln in 1940 with an electrical engineering degree. He married Wilhelmine Koberstein on May 25, 1941, in Lincoln. He worked in his field in Denver until 1943 when he volunteered for the U.S. Army and served in World War II as a technical advisory officer for radio and blind landing systems with the Royal Air Force in Yatesbury, England. After an honorable discharge as a first lieutenant, he and his family moved to Sioux Falls, S.D., where he worked for the Central Electric and Gas Company. In 1951, he and his family moved to the family farm north of Mead where he farmed and worked as an engineer for the National Gypsum Company at Nebraska Ordnance Plant near Mead. He worked and farmed in Mead until 1963 when National Gypsum transferred him to Grand Island where he was plant maintenance manager with Mason and Hanger, and retired in 1984.
He was a member of the Knights of Columbus-Fourth Degree, United Veterans Club, Riverside Golf Club, Fraternal Order of Eagles, St. Leo's Catholic Church Choir, served as scoutmaster for many years and was an honorary lifetime member of the Sioux Falls Junior Chamber of Commerce. He had made two holes in one in golf.
Survivors include: his wife, Billie; four sons, William E. (and wife, Nancy) Hannan, Robert (and wife, Pat) Hannan, all of Mead, Richard (and wife, Linda) Hannan of Greeley, Colo., and J.P. (and wife, Candi) Hannan of Mead; two sisters, Mary E. Shepherd of Seattle and Virginia Rochford of Orange, Calif.; 12 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by a son and a sister.
The funeral will be 10 a.m. Thursday at Resurrection Catholic Church, 4110 Cannon Road, in Grand Island, with the Revs. Harold Kurtenbach and Jack Rademacher officiating. Visitation will be from 3-9 p.m. today at Apsle-Butler-Geddes Funeral Home in Grand Island with a rosary at 7 p.m. Private burial will be in Calvary Cemetery in Fremont.
Memorials have been established to St. Leo's Catholic Church Building Fund in Grand Island and the Knights of Columbus.
