Richard died 20 Nov 1989, Manor care Nursing Home, Oregon, Ohio, buried 24 Nov 1989, Calvary, Toledo. WWII Veteran; Staff Sgt.-Army/Air Force. Recipient of Asiatic Theater Ribbon with one bronze star. Cause of death: richad and Helen both died from heart disease. A contributing factor to Helen's death was lung cancer."

"Richard James Laberdee born 18 Nov 1949, St. Vincent's Hospital, Toledo, baptized Sacred Heart church, Toledo, married 1982, Carol Barr (divorced 1994), died 3 Jan 1993 St. Charles Hopital Oregon, Ohio. vit Nam War Veteran. Despite a swimming accident in 1972 which left Richard a quadriplegic, he achieved his educational goal by graduating from the University of Toledo with both an Associate's Degree in Corrections and a Bachelor of Science Degree in Chriminal Justice. Cause of death: brain trauma resulting from fall at home. In accordance with Richard's wishes, his body was cremated. A memorial Mass was held in Sacred Heart Church on 5 Jan 1993."

Marie E. Hoffman, 78, passed away Thursday, September 11, 2003 at the home of her son in Toledo, Ohio. She was born on September 12, 1924 in Toledo, OH to Anton and Mary (Adeline) Koberstein. She owned and operated Marie's Beauty shop for 15 years. Marie was a member of Sacred Heart Church and worked making tents for our Armed Services during WWII.
Surviving are her son, Robert J. (Donna) Hoffman; brother, Anthony J. Koberstein; grandchildren, Anna M. (Robert Jr.) Cherry and Robin L. Hoffman; great-grandchildren, Amanda M. Cherry and Robert E. Cherry III. She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert; brothers, Frank, Paul and John Koberstein; sisters, Helen Laberdee and Rose Koberstein.
Visitation will be held at the Eggleston-Meinert-Pavley Funeral Home, Coy Road Chapel, 440 S. Coy Rd., Oregon, OH on Monday, September 15, 2003 from 2-9 pm. Funeral services will begin in the funeral home on Tuesday at 10:00 a.m. and proceed to Sacred Heart Catholic Church for Mass of Christian burial at 10:30 a.m. Interment will be in Calvary Cemetery. Memorial contributions can be made to Hospice of Northwest Ohio or the charity of the donor's choice.
