Descendants of Johann KOBERSTEIN

Notes

1. Johann KOBERSTEIN

Per information sent from Linda R. Grant, 3211 Hazelton Drive, Oregon, Ohio 43616 on January 1, 2002.

"Johann and Maria Katharina had at least three sons - Johann, Simon, and Franz, all born in Germany.  After Johann died, Maria Katharina married Frederich Muller and had two children by him - Frederich and Rosa Maria, also born in Germany.  Frederich, a school teacher, had at least one son (name unknown) and as far as it is known his family remained in Germany.

Rosa Maria, known as Aunt Mary to the family, came to the United States a few years earlier than her half-borhter, Johann.  Unmarried when she first arrived, she went to stay with her uncle, George Miller (Anglican form of Muller), near Ridgeville.  Sometime later a friend of hers, a Mrs. Rhinhart, obtained a job for her as the housekeeper for Henry Scharf - a widower with three children (Joseph, Greg, and Mary (Mamie).  Rosa Maria eventually married Henry and they subsequently had two children of their own - Isidore and Ida.  Ida died when she was around one or two years old.

After Henry's death, Rosa Maria married Mike Logel, who had a grocery store at Elm and Moore Streets in Toledo.  Rosa Maria and her second husband did not have any children together.

This family, of course, was not evolved from the Koberstein family but rather Maria Katharina's family, whose surname is unknown."

3. Simon KOBERSTEIN

Per information sent from Linda R. Grant, 3211 Hazelton Drive, Oregon, Ohio 43616 on January 1, 2002.

"Simon (pronounce Sim-mon) Koberstein stayed in Germany.  He never married and was killed in an accident of some kind while in Germany."
