"A memorial service will be held June 5 for Gustave "Dusty" Koberstein of Eugene, who died June 1 of age-related causes. He was 86. Koberstein was born Aug. 14, 1916, in Bismarck, N.D., to Gustave and Christine Hart Koberstein. He married Louise Allen in Eugene on March 7, 1942. She died Sept. 22, 2002. He grew up in Hebron, N.D., and moved to this area in 1939. He served in the Army Air Corps during World War II. He owned Custom Television Repair and continued to operate it until three weeks ago. He enjoyed music from the 1920s, 1930s and 1940s, writing music and playing the ukulele. He also enjoyed writing poetry, and trailer camping trips. Survivors include two daughters, Kathryn Anne of Portland and Marilyn Parra of Eugene; a son, Allan of Salem; eight grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren. Thursday's service will be held at 2 p.m. at 1065 River Road in Eugene. Musgrove Family Mortuary in Eugene is in charge of arrangements. Memorial contributions may be made to the Portland Kateri Circle.".
