An exploring your site, I found my brother: Gustavo Herman Koberstein, basson player. Ernesto and Maria Conceição are may daddy and mommy. In fact my original name is KOBERSZTAJN, from Poland, Opezno or Poczno.
Asking my father, he told me that her father (Herman Kobersztajn married with Helena Lik) arrived in Brazil in 6 august 1928 with her parents (August Kobersztajn and Lidia), brothers (Karl, Hermut, Teofel) and sisters (Bertha and Otilia). My granfather had another sister, Olga, who has gone to Canada.
I don't know more than this. Now, after discover your site, my father is very interesting in our genealogie and he wil search for more information. We hope help you to complete the site. I never mind thar the Koberstein family was so big.

I don't know "Franz". Could you give me her mail? In recently accomplished research, my father found some information on my descent, starting from my great-grandfathers, that can be useful for inclusion
in the site of the Kobersztajn (or Koberstein) family:
Great-grandfathers (#8211); August Kobersztajn married with Lidia Wall (born in Poland, immigrated to Brazil in 06/08/1928, with their children):
Teófilo Kobersztajn, born in 10/01/1906. He died in 28/08/1971. He had the following children: Clara, Henrique, Erna and Otto. They live in the State of Parana.
Otilia Kobersztajn, born in 24/10/1907. She died in Curitiba, State of Parana, in 11/05/1974. She married Otto Rapp and they had the children:
Walter Rapp and Hilma Rappa, both live in Curitiba too.
Carlos Kobersztajn, born in 12/12/1911, in Opoczus, Poland. He died in São Paulo in 10/01/1985. He married Helena Murgi (died) and they had the following children:
Augusto Kobersztajn and Maria Kobersztajn. Augusto lives in Porto Uniao, State of Santa Catarina, and Maria got married and she lives in São Paulo.
Olga Kobersztajn, who immigrated to Canada. She married Gustav and
they had a daughter Marie that married Bill Moffat. They live in Regina city, in Canada. This is the only information that we have obtained.
Bertha Kobersztajn, born in 22/07/1922. She lives in Lança city, State of Santa Catarina. She married Emílio Heimann (died) and
they had the children Alvino, Arlindo, Carlos, Irene and Olivia.
Herman Kobersztajn, born in 08/12/1909 in Opoczno (or Operno), Poland. He died in in 26/02/1996.
He had the following children: Ernesto Gustavo Koberstein (my father), Klaus Koberstein and Hilda Kleman.
My father was born in 27/10/1945 and we live in Brasilia, Federal District.
I have a brother, Gustavo Herman Koberstein, born in 19/11/1972. m Telma Rosângela Koberstein, born in 26/08/1974.
Klaus was born in 26/07/1950 and he lives in Itajaí, Santa Catarina. He married Irene and they have the children
Klaus, Moisés (married M��nica; child
Jéssica), Sara, Zelinda and Elena.
Hilda was born in 25/11/1937, married Evaldo Kleman and they have the children
Rute (married Fredolin) and Roberto (married Josélia).
It is important to say that my grandfather Herman registered her children's last name with Koberstein (for ignored reasons). Thereafter all of children started to have the last name Koberstein in the place of KOBERSZTAJN.
This is the information that we obtained regarding my family. My great-grandfather had lost hir official papers arriving in Brazil, so we didn't get this information and any new information will be valuable for us.

My name is Marcos Schroeder, 39 years old, born in Rio do Sul, State of Santa Catarina, South of Brazil. Since many years I search about my antcestors and towns where they lived. I know that the first teacher in Rio do Sul (at that time Südarm, later Bela Aliança and finally Rio do Sul) was Franz KOBERSTEIN. He was born at 06.06.1846 and died at 30.07.1924. I have only this information about him and know that exist some families descendents in Rio do Oeste, near to Rio do Sul and others in Paraná, another State .
