Battlecreek Enquirer.com Friends, family defend Foley Trace Christenson • The Enquirer • November 23, 2009 After testimony Monday from his family and friends, Tom Foley will take the witness stand tomorrow in his murder trial in Coldwater. “You know my philosophy,” defense attorney J. Thomas Schaeffer said after court today. “I have never not put on a defendant in a capital case. The jury needs to hear it.” Schaeffer said he would call five final witnesses tomorrow, including Foley and a Ken Koberstein, a private investigator working for the defense.
