| Pioneer girl swimmers swim at ECIC's
Pioneer's girls' swimming team sent five swimmers to the ECIC "A" Meet that Sweet Home hosted on October 28 and 30. The Panthers set some personal best times and qualified two more swimmers for the Section VI State Qualifier Meet. Tyler Gardiner finished sixth in the 100 breaststroke (1:18.4), which was her season's best time; this time also qualified her for the Section VI Meet. Lindsay Cislo finished 10th in the 50 freestyle, with her personal best time of 27.11 seconds, which also qualified her for the Section VI Meet. The Panthers finished eighth in the 400 freestyle relay with the season best time of 4:08.53 (Bradi Hopkins, Cislo, Gardiner, and McLeana Schwab). Cislo also swam the 100 freestyle and finished fifth with her seasonal best time of 59.7 seconds. Gardiner also placed 10th in the 200 IM (2:32.4). Hopkins finished 21st in the 100 freestyle with her personal best time of 1:03.4 and finished 12th in the 500 freestyle with 6:10.2. Schwab finished ninth in the 100 backstroke with her personal best time of 1:08.6 and finished 11th in the 100 freestyle (1:00.6). Jenna Koberstein finished 21st in the 200 freestyle with her personal best time of 2:22.7 and finished 14th in the 500 freestyle (6:40.2). On November 14-15, Section VI will host the 2008 Section VI State Qualifier Meet at the Flickinger Center Pool in Buffalo, which is on the campus of Erie County Community College's City Campus downtown. The Panthers will be represented in both the 400 freestyle and 200-medley relays with the team of Hopkins, Cislo, Gardiner, and Schwab. In individual events, Schwab in the 100 freestyle and 100 backstroke; Cislo in the 50 and 100 freestyles; and Gardiner in the 200 IM and 100 breaststroke will also represent Pioneer. The State Qualifier Meet will set up the Section VI contingent for the New York State Girls' Swimming and Diving Championship Meet on November 21-22. |
