Role To assist in the selection and development of varieties for commercial use within the various agro-bioclimatic zones of the South African Sugar Industry.

Analyzing trial data with the goal of optimizing current selection criteria.  Expertise Data analysis and statistical modeling.   Research Interests The impact of

adjusted selection pressures on late stage variety traits.  Trait correlations and their role in commercial breeding.

Key Outcomes Optimized selection programme resulting in obtainable genetic gains.  A quantifiable rating system for important traits to improve selection efficiency.
