Credit Union Robbery

Take a good look at this man. Police say this masked gunman held up the Co-op Toledo credit union. In a surveillance video, the crook can be seen waving the gun around and ordering the tellers to hand over money. Detectives say when he got the money, he hopped in a stolen car and drove it to a Burger King down the street. Then he bailed.

Daniel Koberstein was working on the street lights when it all went down. "I heard the tires squeeling, saw the car come in and stopped over there and the guy jumped out and took off running, talking on his cell phone." So Koberstein picked up his cell phone and called 911. "I asked them if they were looking for that car and they said 'yeah' and I told them where it was."

Detectives swarmed the area, from the air and on foot, looking for the crook. They thought they had their man but soon discovered this guy was just in the wrong place at the wrong time. But they still took him in after finding out there were warrants for his arrest. Police continued the search while crime scene techs dusted the getaway car for fingerprints. They found the money bag inside the stolen car. Detectives say the credit union was also hit last Monday. They say it could be the same crook. Nobody was hurt in this hold-up.
