| Mt. Carmels 5th- and 6th-grade girls lose to Princeton

Mt. Carmel 5th- and 6th-grade girls basketball teams both lost to Princeton Thursday night. The 6th-grade team lost, 40-23, and the 7th-grade squad dropped a 24-14 decision. Princeton led at the 6th-grade games quarter, 11-0, and at halftime, 21-7. Princeton led after three quarters, 27-12. Julie Alka had nine points for Mt. Carmel with Callie Dunkel adding five, Emily Emmons three, and Sydney Peters, Leah Bunting and Kelsey McGill two each. Also playing were Kelsea Krug, Felicia Slunder, Hannah Martin and Brandi Metcalf. Rylee Page and Tenisha Adams both had nine for Princeton. Kaylin Winkle had eight, Alyssa Koberstein six, Brooke Walden four and Kelsey Kolb and Melissa Gonzalez two each. Mt. Carmel led at the 5th-grade games quarter, 5-4, but trailed at halftime, 18-6. Princeton took a 22-6 lead into the fourth quarter. |
