Records for this century start off after a 100 year gap in the Koberstein paper trail with Ecuharius Koberstein born in 1541 and Katharina Von Koberstein born in 1442.

Wwe go to another relatively far flung area of Kreis Unterfranken in current day Bayern (Bavaria) with the Ecuharius Koberstein family. He was a pastor and one of his sons also. Ancestral Quest of this family. This map show the location of Wolfmunster and surrounding towns with Koberstein families in them. The Ecuharius family is the oldest, so one must surmise that the other families in the area came from this root family.

Here is a photo of the bridge over Saalebrücke that flows by the side of Wolfsmünster (left) and Wolfsmunster Castle (right). Here is a video tour of Wolfsmunster Castle. The castle of Wolfsmünster was built by Philip II of Thüngen or his father Albrecht. The portal bears the coat of arms of Thüngen, framed by the year 1584. Above the lintel there is the coat of arms of Wolfsmünster with the wolf.

The Christoph Koberstein family is also in relativly far away Erfurt, Germany. No connections to other family lines are known yet.

Apparently, branches of the original noble Kobern/Koberstein family started moving out to these somewhat distant places. This is only a precursor of what is to come!

The last person listed here is Maria Küberstein married Siomon Noel at Bretten, Baden, standing all alone with no connections.
