Neckarwestheim, Neckarkreis, Wuerttemberg, Germany

See also the previous general IGI listing for South Germany (these records now go way beyond the old IGI listing.

Records organized as families:

=====================================================================================================================

This is the clock tower in Neckarwestheim, Germany.

Neckarwestheim was first mentioned on March 5, 1123 in a document of Holy Roman Emperor Henry V called Westheim. In 1673 the region was called Württemberg and the town was renamed to Kaltenwesten. On August 19, 1884 it was renamed in Neckarwestheim by a royal decree. In 1938 the district was named Heilbronn.

I have constructed a Koberstein family from the records from Neckarwestheim. However the multiple wifes were constructed from time lines and widow/widower designations that help piece together the families. Here is the link in FamilySearch.

I also found a familienbuch (family book) with listing containing three Coberstein familes. They are awesome whole family records:

David Friedrich and wife (maiden name Gemmrig) on Band I, Blatt 187. Image 105 of 1265.

Joh. Conrad and wife (maiden name Frank) on Band I, Blatt 185. Image 104 of 1265.

Tobias Friedr. and wife (maiden name Hoffmann) on Band II, Blatt 77. Image 468 of 1265.

David Friedrich and wife (maiden name Schuetz) on Band II, Blatt 557. Image 712 of 1265.

Here is the image of the index page. Image 1146 of 1265 on right page.

Here are the FamilySearch links to the families that have been constructed so far. As you look at these links you will find additional family members that were constructed from the hints that FamilySearch suggested, they all look good.

The Christian Koberstein family has all been linked:

Christian Koberstein m 23FEB1702 Maria Catharina Holzbog with these children:

1. Christianus Koberstein born 11 Nov 1702, died 27 May 1784
2. Samuel Koberstein born 7 Jan 1705
3. Margaretha Koberstein born 24 Mar 1707
4. Maria Magdalena Koberstein born 22 Jan 1712, died Sep 1777
5. Friederich Koberstein born Jun 1718, died 3 Dec 1718
6. Maria Susanne Koberstein born 1719, died 2 Jul 1729

Christian Koberstein died sometime after conceiving their last child and Maria Catharina remarrying (Oct 1718 to Nov 1722), making his wife a widow.

Johann Martin Leib m 23 Nov 1722 Maria Catharina (indicated as a widow of the now deceased (symbol +) Christian Koberstein. This is proof that this Christian is not the next Christian that had five (5) wifes.

Apparently this Christian Koberstein died before this remarriage of Maria Sibylla Coberstein to Christof Florian Spahr in 1776. This is proven by her designation as a widow in these source documents. He would have died after the conception of their last child about Jun 1753 and her remarriage Apr 1776.
